兄妹倆實在是餓壞了，忍不住飛奔過去，拆下房子忘情的吃了起來。

「對不起，我們是在森林裡迷路的孩子。」

這時，科蘭蒂突然靈光一現，想到了一個好法子，或許可以救救哥哥和她。
於是，她便問魔女說：「要怎麼看才知道水開了沒呢？我不會呀！你自個兒看吧。」
「什麼！一個女孩子竟然連水開了沒都不會看，難道你在家都沒煮過東西嗎？」
「沒有啊！」
「好吧！我自己看。」
魔女便走近鍋旁，仔細的看著鍋水。
趁這時候，科蘭蒂便使盡全力，從後面猛撞了過去。
魔女絲毫沒有防備，就這樣掉到熱鍋里去了。
「哎呀！燙死我了。」
魔女苟延殘喘幾聲後就死了。
科蘭蒂高興的跑去打開箱子，將班吉爾救了出來。
「哥哥，哥哥！魔女死掉了！」
「啊！真的嗎？」
「嗯！真的。」科蘭蒂將經過情形告訴哥哥。
兄妹倆高興的擁抱著。班吉爾感動的說：「妹妹，你好勇敢哦！」

河的對岸，有隻大野鴨正悠閑的游著。
科蘭蒂喊道：「對了，可以拜託野鴨先生呀！」
於是，兩人一起叫著：「野鴨先生，拜託你載我們到對岸去，好嗎？」
野鴨好像聽懂他們的話似的，果然遊了過來，並載他們渡過了河。
遠遠的，他們就看到了自己的家。
沒想到那狠心的媽媽因為得了病死了。
之後與他們的父親快樂的生活在了一起！
